Ben Chifley Reservoir Project – Destratification and Cyanobacterial Control

ResMix 5000 CC

Ben Chifley Reservoir, 20km south east of Bathurst, is the primary water source for Bathurst and surrounds.

Bathurst Regional Council approached WEARS Australia to provide a solution for destratifying the water column and increasing concentrations of dissolved oxygen in order to reduce high levels of nutrients as well as eliminate the occurrence of seasonal turnover.

Other concerns included minimisation of toxic Cyanobacteria and replacing a highly inefficient and ineffective compressed air destratification system.
