Bootawa Dam Project – Algal ControlResMix 3000 |
|
Bootawa Dam is an off-line storage supplying potable water throughout the Taree Municipality in NSW. Because of stratification and anoxic source water, resource managers struggled to supply high quality water. Frequent algal blooms, including toxic cyanobacteria, caused filter clogging at the water treatment plant and resulted in taste, odour and water colour problems, plus disinfection by-products remained in the treated water. Traditional source water treatment systems were inefficient and ineffective at alleviating these issues.
