Chichester Dam Project – Manganese EliminationResMix 5000 CC |
|
Chichester Dam, which contributes approximately 35 percent of the Lower Hunter region’s water supply, had a history of cyanobacterial outbreaks as well as high concentrations of dissolved metallic ions, in particular manganese. Compressed air destratification units were used in an attempt improve water quality, but these were energy intensive, inefficient and required a high level of costly maintenance each year.
